Find out if Open Farm's Freeze Dried Raw Variety Pack for Cats suits your feline. Learn key decision rules, trade-offs, and how to pick the right raw food.
Quick answer
Open Farm's Freeze Dried Raw Variety Pack for Cats is a solid choice if your cat already eats raw or you want to sample four protein-rich recipes before committing to a larger bag.
Why a variety pack makes sense for picky eaters
Cats can be finicky about protein sources. A variety pack lets you test Surf & Turf, Chicken & Salmon, Harvest Chicken, and Wild-Caught Salmon & Cod without buying four separate bags. That reduces waste and cost if your cat rejects one recipe.
Trade-off: not a complete diet for every cat
Freeze-dried raw food is minimally processed and high in protein, but it may not suit cats with certain health conditions (e.g., kidney disease) unless your vet approves. The pack is also more expensive per ounce than traditional kibble, so budget-conscious owners should weigh the value.
Decision rules for choosing this variety pack
- Your cat is new to raw food: Start with one morsel mixed into their current food and increase over a week. The variety pack lets you find the protein they tolerate best.
- You want to rotate proteins easily: The four separate 3.5 oz bags make it simple to switch recipes without opening a large bag that might go stale. Store opened bags in an airtight container and use within 30 days.
- Your cat has a known protein allergy: Check the ingredient list for each recipe. The pack contains chicken, salmon, and beef, so it may not work if your cat avoids one of those. If your cat is allergic to chicken, skip the Harvest Chicken and Chicken & Salmon bags.
Product facts
- Freeze Dried Raw Variety Pack for Cats: Each recipe features 100% humanely raised and wild-caught meat, organ, and bone. This means you're feeding whole-prey ingredients without fillers, which mirrors a cat's natural diet more closely.
